Suzuki Motor Corporation

Hamamatsu, Japan; this is where Suzuki is headquartered at... which also means this is where they make the OEM Suzuki Rims & the Original Suzuki Reno Rims.

They specifically specialize in making and distributing compact cars and 4x4 cars as well. If you didn't know, they manufacture a big range of motorcycles, ATV's that people here in Southern California usually take out to the desert, a few outboard marine engines, a couple of wheelchairs, and a bunch of other small internal combustion engines.

As of now, Suzuki is listed the ninth largest car manufacturer in the world - this is determined by production volume. Suzuki employes more than 45,000 people and has an approximate 35 main production facilities in about 23 countries and 133 distributors in 192 countries. I know, that's a lot. There were some statistics recorded that came in from the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA); the charts said that Suzuki was recorded to be Japan's second largest manufacturer of small cars and trucks.

Fun Fact: Suzuki makes most of its net profits from India selling their cars & the 2007 Suzuki Reno Rims on them.

Suzuki was founded in 1909 by a man named Michio Suzuki. It was first founded with the name "Suzuki Loom Works" and it was placed in Hamamatsu, Japan - the same place they're headquartered at! Everyone who was there was surprised at how fast business took off and just at how well they were doing when they had first released their products - they started out weaving looms for Japan's biggest and popular silk industry.

By 1929, Michio Suzuki had came out with a new type of weaving machine - this was the machine that was so good it was imported overseas. The company had filed as many as 120 patents and utility model rights. The very first 30 years that they were in business, they had mainly focused on he development and production of these exceptionally complex machines - they wanted to be the best in the business, just like anyone else.

After they had been so successful, they decided that they needed to branch out and just make different products so that they can relate to more of their customers. After they realized that cars are what the people wanted, then that's what they decided to make. They figured making cars would be "the most practical new venture." They had begun making cars & OE Suzuki Rims in about 1937. Within the two years that they had begun, they had made more than enough compact prototype cars.

There was a model that was released called the Maruti Suzuki India Limited (clearly it was made and distributed in India). This car is labeled "Suzuki's largest and most valuable subsidiary". They had made an estimated 1,018,365 units in the fiscal 2009-2010.. I think that's a lot of cars.

The car was born as a Government of India company - this means that Suzuki was a minor partner. This is the way that they had it set so that it could be more affordable to the lower class citizens of India. Over the past couple years, the product range had widened more than expected - this, in a nutshell, means that ownership has changed hands and the customer has evolved.
